Description
After years making custom drums for some of the boldest names in music, SJC designed the Pathfinder snare drum to bring that same ethos to a wider range of drummers. It starts with a 7-ply mahogany/maple shellthe same hybrid wood mixture used for many of SJC’s signature drums. The maple brings the classic balanced tone heard on countless records, while mahogany enhances the low end for a deep, powerful “crack” on the backbeat. The result is a combination of warmth and punch. They didn’t skimp on the hardware and styling, either. This snare has SJC’s notorious flat black hardware, including their signature shield lugs and drop-style throw-off. Finally, the prominent badge shows these are genuine SJC drums, through and through.
